Chicken Keeping for Beginners in Pembrokeshire

28/09/2010 10:28

Keeping chickens in the garden can be a fun and rewarding hobby. It is important to get a good idea of what to expect and avoid as many pitfalls of chicken husbandry, as possible. Why not do this course as part of your wonderful holiday in beautiful Pembrokeshire where there are fantastic beaches, a coastal path in the National Park, historic towns and castles and much more. This is why I have set up a series of courses for those who are interested in keeping chickens in their garden as pets and for their eggs. One couple who came a few days ago emailed and said

'Mary,

Just a quick email to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay and our introductory day course on keeping chickens, it was very informative and has given us both a good grounding, so that we feel more comfortable about our aims in keeping chickens. We also enjoyed being shown around the rest of the farm and the new calfs and lambs.

Rosehill Farm offers self catering accommodation in Nook Cottage and farmhouse Bed and Breakfast, for enquiry form nd more details please see www.rosehillfarmbandb.co.uk and my blog https://rosehillbedandbreakfast.blogspot.com/.

Some people like to attend this day course as part of their holiday or stay in Pembrokeshire; which has a fanastic coastline to walk on the coastal path. See the puffins when they breed in Spring and early summer on Skomer Island. Explore islands and coastline on boat trips, see the marine wildlife, and participate in many enjoyable outdoor activities. In autumn and winter you can see seal pups in the sheltered bays; born from September onwards and watch the migrating birds from the cliffs.
